Mallard Point is a family-run Single Estate Vineyard and Distillery located in Essendine, Rutland, forever linked with the record-breaking Mallard Steam Train. We planted our first vines in 2019, with further plantings in 2022, 2023 and again in 2025, and make regional terroir specific wines that are closely aligned with the premium spirits from our distillery.
From field to glass, we approach our craft conscientiously and sustainably. All our drinks are made in small batches with minimal intervention, to respect the natural flavours. We keep all production in-house to maintain the highest standards of quality control and reduce our carbon footprint.
We are a single estate field to bottle operation. Each step in our wine production is carried out onsite giving us complete provenance and traceability.
Our focus is on creating expressive, fruit driven wines through minimal intervention, letting the grapes do the talking.
We are respectful about the environment and want to share our way of life with others through our brand. With that in mind, we think and act to build something that lasts for future generations and create products that bring joy with minimal impact on our planet.
This not only happens out in the Vineyard but in the Winery and Distillery and our bottle and packaging were designed with sustainability at the forefront of our minds, an ideology of reuse rather than recycle being our commitment to making a difference.
Our box is cleverly designed using recycled material, once you have enjoyed the bottle simply pop it back in the packaging sleeve and return it to us at no cost so that we can clean and reuse the bottle and box, thus using less packaging and producing less waste – and in return, we will give you a “thank you” off your next purchase.
